All candidates for ECDL Update must already hold an ECDL certificate. Some refresher training may be required, particularly for candidates whose original ECDL certificate was attained under an earlier syllabus version. Training centres will offer ECDL Update courses for candidates who require them. The ECDL Update test is currently a single manual test of one hour’s duration, selected from an ECDL Update Question Test Base. Each of the seven core level modules is examined in equal measure and the test consists of eight multiple choice theory questions and twenty four practical, task-oriented questions. The pass mark is 75%, as with all ECDL programmes.
